SUMMER STUDENT JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Resource Development Coordinator

REPORTS TO: Executive Director

PRIMARY FOCUS:
To elicit, collect, track and manage donations for the agency’s annual signature fundraiser.

To work independently, with corporations and private donors to provide required information regarding the agency and the fundraiser, as requested.

To function as a member of the staff team organizing the fundraising event, providing information and updates on progress for fundraiser preparation to both staff team and volunteer fundraising team

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Solicitations in person, via mail and email, through cold calling and follow up to previous mail solicitation for the Annual Signature Fundraiser

Update and maintain marketing resources

Provide progress reports to staff committee on event coordination activities

Update and maintain signature event donation database and reports

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:
Daily and reliable access to vehicle with million dollar liability insurance
Currently enrolled in post-secondary and returning full time in September

SUPERVISION OF STUDENT:

Student will be supervised by the Executive Director and/or her designate
Weekly supervision meetings will occur for the first month of employment
A performance appraisal will be completed at the 4 week mark to determine effectiveness and provide feedback
On-going supervision will occur bi-weekly for duration of placement

WORKPLACE HEALTH AND SAFETY PROMOTION:

Orientation will include overview of agency Health and Safety policy and procedures, including emergency evacuation procedure
Student will be provided with the Health and Safety Policy and Procedure
As a social service agency providing support to young parents and their children, on-going review of health and safety issues is required of all staff.

DETAILS:

Position begins July 3, 2017 and concludes August 25, 2017
Hourly Rate is $12.00 per hour
Hours are Monday to Friday 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Mileage is reimbursed at a rate of $0.41 per KM
