Christmas

Everyone Deserves a Christmas

For too many Canadians, especially during these challenging economic times, the basic necessities of life needed for human dignity are out of reach. The Rose of Durham provides direct, compassionate hands-on service to more than 400 young parents each year, to help restore dignity and hope to those who need it most.

You may not know it, but the holidays are one of the most challenging times for someone living in poverty. Did you know that many people living in poverty during the holidays are forced to choose between buying food and purchasing gifts for their children?

With your help, together we can bring Christmas and the true holiday spirit to the Rose of Durham young families in need so they don’t have to make that choice. **Please note that our Christmas support program is only available to active clients of the Rose of Durham.**

Your family, office or organization can make Christmas brighter by participating in one of Rose of Durham’s Christmas Programs.

The Rose of Durham staff are always thankful and overwhelmed by the generosity shown to our clients at Christmas. This year we have the following Christmas Programs for you to consider when deciding how to support the Rose of Durham at Christmas:

Sponsor a Family at Christmas

Through our “sponsor a family at Christmas” program, you would be helping us provide Christmas support to families who would normally wake up on Christmas morning with little or nothing under the tree. This program allows you to provide a family in need with a Christmas that they would otherwise not have. We are very grateful for your interest in supporting us. If you are interested in participating in our Christmas support program, please click on the link below for the registration form and more details.   For more information please contact Deneen Nolte at deneen.nolte@roseofdurham.com.

Support our Christmas Party

Contribute to our annual Christmas party by providing toys and/or gift cards to be given to every young family that attends our party.  Toys should be brand new baby and young toddler toys (no stuffed animals please) in the $10-$20 price range.  Gift cards should be in $10.00 denominations for grocery stores or McDonalds, or $5.00 Tim Hortons.  For more information please contact Deneen Nolte at deneen.nolte@roseofdurham.com.

We thank you for considering participating in the Christmas Program at Rose of Durham, and we wish you a blessed and Merry Christmas.

If you are not an active client or are outside our age mandate please know that you can still obtain support in the following way.
