Basic Connections

Basic Connections is an eight (8) week attachment based parenting program facilitated by a Rose of Durham counselor and a Durham Region Public Health nurse with support and referrals by Durham Children’s Aid Society. The program is designed for young parents under the age of 26 with a baby under 6 months who are involved with Durham Children’s Aid Society.

The focus of the program is on attachment: how to create a secure attachment relationship, understanding a baby’s cues and how to respond appropriately to those cues. The program builds on parent strengths and encourages skills to enhance the parent child bond.
