Basic Connections

Basic Connections – focuses on parent-child attachment relationship. Offered twice per year in partnership with Durham Children’s Aid Society and facilitated by the two creators of the program, Rose of Durham’s Senior Counsellor, and a Durham Region Public Health Nurse.

The program is designed for young parents under the age of 25 with a baby under 6 months, and where community agencies such as Children’s Aid are involved. Participants are taught how to bond and connect with their child, in an effort to increase the number of young parents who are able to parent effectively without the involvement of community services.

Today’s Quote

You don’t really understand human nature unless you know why a child on a merry-go-round will wave at his parents every time around – and why his parents will always wave back.
